Just because she was voted in by a majority doesn't mean millions didn't dislike her, it just means more millions liked her.

1979: Tory vote 13.6m other main parties 15.8m
1983 Tory vote 13m other main parties 16.2m
1987 Tory vote 13.7m other main parties 17.3m

don't get me started on our electoral system AGAIN!!!

I still think it's carrying hate on for too long, a bit loke some of the older generation who still hate Germans because of the war (not the sunbeds  ;))

The stats were there to disprove Pete's theory that millions more loved Maggie than hated her.
You'll get no argument from me that our archaic first past the post system produces results that don't reflect how the nation really voted.
The difficulty is that those opposed to change will point to the fact that such a system would a) allow for extremist fringe candidates getting a say (it probably wouldn't but never let the facts get in the way of a good rant) and b) produces results that gave us the current coalition which they then claim is the worst of all worlds.
