Another cruise ship in trouble
« on: March 31, 2012, 12:03:48 PM »
Just read about a cruise ship with 60 Britons on board adrift near the Philippines after a fire in the engine room.

I think I'll stick to Skeggy...

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

They practise their evacuation drills when in port. They do it at least once a week. They also practise rescue from the water. I've posted in another thread the heights involved with these ships. The deaths are tragic enough, I just hope no one pressed the wrong button and has to live with it.

2 points.

1:  The way the news story in the link I provided was reported.
Was it made to be a little more sensational than needed.
Read the comments at the end of the article.

2: Could there have been a lack of communication between crew members.
eg Too many different language speaking people.

Terrible accident, it will be interesting to hear how this could have happened as they must have practised this many times before  :(
