Mylee Ward, a three-year-old girl, died of dehydration after a doctor failed to carry out basic checks, an inquest heard.
Apparently the child had not eaten or had anything to drink for three days, but the doctor at Chesterfield Hospital didn't do basic blood or urine tests. He sent her home at one in the morning with antibiotics.
Said coroner Robert Hunter, "These are basic medical checks, nothing complex or sophisticated. Had she been admitted and fluids given, on balance she would have survived.”
This is so sad.
