Fly it's been a flipping night mare  >:(
I managed to switch the tablet off this morning - wouldn't let me last night
Bro came round later and had a go he managed to get it to reset.
Phew!
Nope it didn't sort it because when I went into it to put hubbies stuff back in - it was still on!!!??? >:(
Anyway more faffing about after bro left and I managed to turn it off - but it was a battle!
It kept flipping back to other things instead of turning it off.
Eventually it obviously gave in (Big Sigh of relief).
Still have to try and sort out why it keeps losing internet connection though, but Alsatian has given me a tip so will look into that.
Anyone out there with a nexus 7 do not go into accessibilty and put on the talkback unless you are really going to use it all the time.
It seems there are many others who have had the same problem

Hi, Sound like there could be a problem with it,  If you would like i can take a look at it for you if you drop by the shop. 409 Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, S40 2DH. We repair lots of things from tablets, Laptops and even GHDs. You can visit our facebook page if you would like dansies.  I hope you solve it soon but like i said i am happy to take a look for you.

I don't suppose it could just be faulty, maybe you could take it back to the shop were you purchased it let them try it.

Handy may have a point OC. Mine is faulty, USB connection, but I bought it off Ebay and the seller has walked.
Nice of johnatdansies to offer to look at it, he didn't mention if the diagnosis was free though.

Are you offering a free diagnosis service to the forum members JAD(johnatdansies) ?

Thanks folks but I seem to have sorted it.
It was I think the talkback apps.
Hubby hasn't used it whilst we have been away so will have to wait and see - but it 'was' working ok.
I won't be trying that again!!

ps
johnatdansies - the vacuum cleaner I bought in for repair awhile ago is working great now thanks  ;)

It's like Microsoft selling Windows with other pre installed software.
