Foul Tasting Water
« on: August 03, 2014, 09:25:56 AM »
Anyone else having problems with their water.
Over the last months we have thrown so many cups of tea/coffee away it's getting annoying.
It tastes like the swimming baths water at times -  horrible!
Who do we phone to speak to about this - would it be Severn Trent?

Personally I don't drink the tap water any more for this reason, but I have noticed that when it's used for washing up sometimes it smells as though the pots were done in the river Rother, needless to say they have to be done again, and again etc etc. rinsing with bottled water seems to get rid of the smell, but what of any germs?

Yes OC, speak to Severn Trent, they supply your water, & it should not smell or taste funny. Have any of your neighbours noticed the same problems? If so get them to ring up as well. You pay for your water - as such you are entitled to clean water & it needs to be investigated otherwise. There was a nasty leak near the former Hunloke Arms over the past couple of days, but its gone now.

I did speak to Severn Trent as suggested.
Result was after a return call, they then sent out two clip thingies, to make sure there was no water getting into the cold tap via the dish washer and washing machine.
Seems it's a common problem - not sure why we haven't had it before though.
Will see if it works  ;)
