Clay Cross
« on: May 05, 2016, 05:36:10 PM »
Things seem to be on the move all at once now as we approach Clay Cross buildings are going up and further on past the roundabout buildings pulled down.

All this will hopefully be finished by 2020. It's a huge stretch of land.

Marstons are set to come and I believe their eating place will be a Generous George pub.
I've never heard of and so obviously never been in one - I'm wondering what the food will be like.
The article in the Derbyshire Times also tells us there is to be a 'Fast Food' Restaurant ( I have heard it's McD's ) ???
Also the supermarket which most know about which is Aldi.

The Market Street which used to be the hub in Clay cross will be a ghost street I reckon.

Hi Shall i to add to my last post on the other thread, I think you will find the people pretty friendly there, once a mining community they don't seem to have lost that community spirit -  ;)

Welcome to the forum (y)
Personally I don't live in Clay Cross but I do encounter the folks there almost daily and they are fine. I would see no problem with Clay Cross to be fair - it's a lovely town in my opinion :)

Yes please do add me. Thank you. I think I shall have to contact my housing and ask which areas they could offer me a house, if they can. Would you advise me for or against certain areas? Thank you
