Part of a fire & rescue squad's checks are:
Will the building we are trying to get an overweight person out of take the weight
of the number of team members required to do the task, plus the person's weight.
One fire crew actually fell through the floor trying to rescue a 34st man from a fitness centre.

Blimey 34 stones is a huge weight to try and rescue but what would they do --- just leave him to perish - I think not.

At least the guy was in a fitness centre.

Me neither, but isn't there something wrong in society or family life when people need removing
through windows cos they're to wide to fit through doors.

This should have been sorted before he was half as fat as he is now. Was nobody interested before? Doctor? Family?

I think sometimes being over weight has an unlying problem for the person concerned, like drinking, drugs, smoking etc the person has to 'want' to try and do something about the weight themselves and seek help with it

I watched it for a while last night - they were using a hoist to get a fat bloke out of a pretend toilet.
I'm afraid that as I watched the hoist in action, I couldn't help thinking they should have an industrial strength elastic band on it so they could twang him into the ambulance...
What?
