Chesterfield Forums Ban My PMs?
« on: May 03, 2012, 11:51:40 AM »
It looks like Chesterfield Forums have banned me from sending Private Messages to one of their members.  :o

I was invited to participate in a Jam Night by a member on their forums - and not wishing to post openly about equipment, PA, etc we communicate via private message. But this morning I got an email saying that this member had sent me a PM, so I signed on only to be told that I am not allowed to send or receive messages...

So, true to form, they are censoring members once again, for whatever petty reasons I don't know. Talk about Big Brother! They have gone from being the best forum in town to some sort of right-wing fascist forum where free speech is just a memory.

You couldn't make this crap up...  :(
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Goes without saying my PM's have been stopped on there a while.
A Mod told me they were member privileges.
In other words, they don't want us contacting other members.

@OC - I don't want to persuade folks to join this forum and have never tried to convince an existing member of CF to defect, so to speak.

@Flyboy - I'm still a member there and have PMed the member that wants to jam last week and I had no problems.

I can only presume CF don't want the 'Popular Competitor' contacting their members. Sad  :(

@ Fly - Yes, they are sad.

I made a rule for myself never to contact any CF members about Chesterfield Online when we set it up. I only wanted folks on here who had made that decision themselves.

Pity CF aren't as confident or as honourable as that.  :(

@ OC - Steady on...   ;D
