Roadworks in and around Chesterfield

Picked my sister up from Matlock to see my Mum this morning:

1. Roadworks/Bridge repairs on Chester St/Ashgate Road............. Chester St now two way once more with 3 way traffic control - BUT - the lights are sited one on Chester St and two on Ashgate Road. What about traffic (me) coming from Holmebank West and wanting to go along Chester St? This morning I went across Ashgate Road only to be met with traffic coming t'other way on Chester St!!  :o

2. Roadworks on Hasland Road/junction of Heather Vale (Mum lives at Heathervale care home), so went along back road to come up Calow Lane and turn right onto Hasland Road - BIG MISTAKE - resurfacing on Calow Lane!! Looks like I'll be spending the next few hours removing tar from my cars paintwork! >:(

3. Roadworks from Lordsmill St/Vicar Lane to Holywell St, turned left onto Beetwell St and West Bars etc etc

Feel free to add your own roadworks sightings - I'm sure there's many more!

Then, to add insult to injury West Bars roundabout blocked due to accident on Wheatbridge Road! Can never understand why there are two sets of pedestrian crossings on Wheatbridge Road....esp the one so close to the roundabout.  ???

This is the first car I have ever owned from brand new. 6yr old now but still in bloody good nick.
I'll be staying well away from the chippings  ;)
