@ Fly - it never was/is going to be easy but i think you are both very brave for getting to grips with it and for even getting this far. Just keeping going - you CAN do it!

Just mentioned this thread to our_lass.
It would take a 'serious' event to make either of us crack.
Were determined, and doing well  ;)

According to all the bumph for 'Stoptober' anyone staying ciggie free for 28 days is 5 times more likely to quit for good.So you are half way there already.
Well done, keep going

Seen the bumph JR,
ZYBAN, don't laugh. This stuff rocks, and I've got enough tablets for another 3 weeks.
Down side. If you hit a low, you feel low big style  :(

But I/we haven't had a fag for a fortnight.
By my reckoning, that's pretty good. If not amazing  ;)

If you can stop for a fornight you can stop for good, its all down to your will power now being stronger than your cravings, its hard just dont let temptation make you try a cig, i stopped once before in my twentys for 2 years and thought i could smoke just a couple a day but  2 became 5 etc and after a month i was back to 30 /40 a day.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good - But, too many Birthdays can kill you.

That's the trap we don't want to fall into.
I mentioned to our_lass at the start of this attempt, if we treat it like a heroin addiction, one hit could be the end.
No surrender, no retreat :-) Just say 'NO'  8)

Jeez, I'm starting to sound like the proverbial smoker that stopped and knows what's best for everybody else  :P

Well done the both of you, in a way it is an addiction you suffer the withdrawel symptoms. Normally you feel stressed or down you light up thats what you have been used to. Just a matter of finding something else to help...I suppose (heard it before) Its also finding somethng to do wth your hands ??! I dont know, anyway keep it up the both of you

@Emmz It's called Zyban LOL
Or Champix in our_lass's case

I find myself standing on the taxi rank with my arms crossed  ;D
Or rolling a cocktail stick between my fingers. Tooth pick etc lol
Or sitting in my taxi bored  :(

Most people who know me close/personally are gobsmacked  8)
