Chris: if a party are in opposition thats all they ever do regardless of which party it is. During the election campaign the ONLY thing that the parties agreed on was that cuts were necessary. They differed over the timing but thats all. NEITHER party gave any clear direction on what they would and wouldn't cut. Nobody could run a business that way (imagine coming into Sainsburys and me offering to see you a bag full of shopping for £10 without actually telling you what was in it) yet we figure its acceptable for people to run a country that way. Fact is that too many people in this country vote according to political ideology and dogma rather than actually listening to what the parties have to offer and making an informed choice. (Remind me to tell you one of Mycul's favourite polling station stories)
As we have seen in a different thread the Tories are actually spending MORE money rather than cutting the deficit. So either that is an admission that cuts can't be made or its an indication that the Tories are as you say Useless.
