Someone just told me that Horns Bridge roundabout is flooding - anyone seen owt?

Only thing I've seen today is water coming up through a manhole cover under Storforth Lane bridge.

I was queued on the bypass for half an hour at 3.45pm today.
I'd just gone past the Temple Normanton turn off when PeakFM announced it was flooded.
The manhole cover was up in the right lane, nobody would risk the left lane, so everybody was using the middle lane.
Have heard since, it's blocked. Someone's broke down in it LOL

A632 Matlock Road near the old White Hart was blocked about 4, not sure if it's clear yet

Traffic in to town from Calow backed up to Calow Church a few minutes ago. Brimington Hill (past crematorium) solid both ways.
Staveley canal burst its banks as well as river.Tom lane at Duckmanton flooded. Flooded near clock tower (Staveley Works) at Barrow Hill near low bridge. :(

when Ravenside was built the storm drains were designed in line with Environment Agency policy to cope with everything except a once in 50 years flooding event.
Remind me how long has it been built?????

So let me get this right. Last time it pi$$ed it down big style, and flooded was 2007.
We were in holiday in Turkey. That's another story  ::)

Didn't stop the 2 foot flood at HornsBridge today.
And no, I don't give what Gov was in power, point, f all done !!  ;)
More money well spent !!

Don't forget we've still got to get the run off from the peaks in derbyshire yet heading this way - and more heavy rain tomorrow forecast.
Should be a good test for these flood defences.
My daughter knows someone who works at debenhams who said they shut early after shifting a lot of stock upstairs.
Hope Maplins have done the same - some dodgy electrical stock otherwise...

Can't believe Debenhams, and Maplins have built on there if there's chance of further flooding.
