After they demolished Focus,I spent many a sandwich break (@ the coach station) watching fascinating machines installing huge concrete pipes, which,I was lead to believe, were to divert flood water to some sort of huge undeground massive storage facility, which would store flood water until it was safe enough to release it.
I hope it works............... :(

...Hope Maplins have done the same - some dodgy electrical stock otherwise...
Might have to have a run past tomorrow and see if they've got a skip round the back!

It's what I drove through yesterday. Glad I was in front of those that broke down.

That big puddle would have been coming in through the front doors of a bus  ;)
They might be 15' high, they don't have that much clearance underneath LOL

And guess where the electrics are on most of them, near the front doors - water ingress- fizz bang - ooh its died! The Bus that is.
Lessons have been learned though - most of the electrics are now in a panel behind the driver. In new buses.
However most of our buses are not so new.
In my relatively short career as a bus driver (7 years), I have not had to deal with floods, luckily - although I'm sure a bus can deal with up to a minor flood if you take it slowly, much like a car.I am much more impressed with them in the snow and ice to be honest as per this video in a bus that is traditionally useless in snow.
Bus up the hill

Clay Cross to North Wingfield. Seen one coming up the hill the other year.
Took a while, but he/she made it eventually.

Am I right on location. Haven't even watched the video ?

Edit: OK watched it now, I was right :-)
