I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I want undertime not overtime.

When those vehicles were around there was probably enough manpower to get snow clearing done though I'm not sure how effective ashes were compared with the rock salt of today.

Nah then laddy Slack, wen I was a kiddy winks my granddad worked on the council, he lived in our village and what he did back then was have a hand plough and shovel round our village along with any other council workers who lived in the village.
We used ashes on our path but it only gave something to grip on underfoot, I don't think it would melt it would it?
