Chesterfield is the centre of attraction for much of NEDDC & BDC which is why that the services which require council tax subsidies should be cheaper for Chesterfield residents.

Why no diving boards ?

Quote
The centre, which will open in early 2015, will have a mix of modern facilities such as swimming pools, a fitness suite, dance studio and sports hall - but the three diving boards currently at Queen’s Park will not be replaced nor will the running track.

Problem with rebuilding on same site is what becomes of users and staff in the interim period.

This idea is similar to what's happened with many schools in North Derbyshire. Build a new one in the grounds or nearby then demolish the old one. I prefer a partnership agreement with the college which benefits local people rather than a company run for profit.

I think you'll find the college is pretty much a business run for profit. And what about the access for ordinary folks if the college have such a preferential deal?
