Words of an American Soldier about our Army ....
« on: June 14, 2013, 01:29:40 PM »
"Those Brits are a strange old race, they show affection by abusing each other, will think nothing of casually stopping in the middle of a fire fight for their "brew up" and eat food that I wouldn't give to a dying dog!

But fuck me, I would rather have one British squaddie on side than a entire battalion of Spetznaz!!!...

Why? Because the British are the only people in the world who when the chips are down and there seems like no hope left, instead of getting sentimental or hysterical, will strap on their pack, charge their rifle, light up a smoke and calmly and wryly grin "Well, are we going then, you wanker??"

Hat tip to Patrick.

and on the day that the Sir Peter Wall warned that more cuts would be 'very disruptive and quite dangerous quite quickly'
as usual the government are wanting to say at the next election - look at how much we have saved - don't worry about the people and services affected.

That is however one lovely tribute to our forces men and women

I thought so - even if the language is, err, quite colourful.  ;)
