It's ridiculous, life should mean life, end of.

They argue that it's degrading - if murderers feel that, put em in a room with some cyanide - wouldn't want them to feel degraded.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

In theory there is no issue here.
Judge 'In accordance with your human rights I am reviewing your sentence length. No sorry, you evil mudering B*****d you ain't coming out'!!!

Of course the problem is that some liberal judge who shares the view of the ECHR will let them out.

Life means "Life" as per the word/sentence.
Another interference from EU we could do without.
A case for bringing back the death sentence methinks.
Why foster these undoubtedly guilty criminals in prison "hospitality" for the rest of their lives?
I know thats off track from the original post, but thought I'd say it anyway.
As for breaching Human Rights - did the perpetrators of these crimes breach their victims Human Rights? I'm guessing they most certainly did.
Pathetic >:(

These people aren't just the ordinary Jo Bloggs who gets his gun out which he uses for rabbiting to defend his property they are people who have done terrible things which Jo Bloggs wouldn't dream of doing. I think they give up ALL their rights when they commit terrible crimes and are caught and punished.

Chap in on the discussion on tv this morning voiced his opinion that ' it was a stupid ruling and the EU are doing it because they want the UK out of the EU?
Any thoughts on that angle? it seems a bit drastic to me

I think Cameron put the collective back up with EU officials when he first got elected by demanding a reduction in the UK's contribution (pretty much failed) and telling the world that we are going to have a referendum on leaving the EU.

Actually, Cameron is really very good at alienating the different groups in society - his greatest triumph is convincing folks that anyone who doesn't have a job is a "shirker" - and Osborne backs him up by punishing them, and the poorest members of society, whilst the super rich get super richerer.

IMHO
