Do you think we do enough for our ageing parents?
« on: October 18, 2013, 07:54:38 PM »
Apparently it is thought that we don't.
Asian population do much better it seems.
Seeing as they have larger families it's not surprising really.
Must admit it made me cross when I heard it as I gave up my full time work in 2010 after my father passed away, to help my mum stay in her home.
In the two years my mum had left my brothers and I worked as a team to help mum and it put pressure on us all.
Mum like dad died in her sleep in her own home.
I'll bet there are many more British people out there who have done the same for their parents :?

Asians probably live as a family in one household. Therefore the elderly will pass away after being cared for by the family.
Can't really comment further without a link to what you've seen or read ;-)
Me, you,  and most people on here, would never see parents go without care and 100% backing.
My mum's been in Australia for the last 5 week, can't wait to see the old girl tomorrow  :-*
