Marine A

Right or wrong about the 'life' sentence.

It sounds like the Marine just shot a severely injured Afghanistan suffering wounds from a helicopter air strike.
Whilst on camera, he decided to terminate the guy with a single gun shot to the chest.
Someone saw the video, grassed him, he got reported to the military and was found guilty of murder.

I'm seeing loads of FB posts praising him and saying anything goes. It's war.
I can see both side's of the argument, but if a military tribunal finds you guilty  ::)

The Geneva Convention has rules about this sort of thing.

Another mess in a conflict we shouldn't be involved in though I suspect if he was an Israeli they would make him a national hero.

He done wrong - under extenuating circumstances

Real question is why do we need this man to do his job.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

War is a dirty business but shooting someone once the threat is over is no different fro the Nazis executing recaptured POWs

Do I condone murder? No
Do I think Marine A should be punished? yes
Am I certain that if I was in such a lawless area,Fighting a pointless war,  living every day in fear of my life, watching my mates getting blown up by IED's, not knowing who was and wasn't a suicide bomber that I wouldn't be tempted to do exactly the same thing? No I'm not!

Be interesting to know how many 'helmet cams' have broken recently.

I'm a drunk I go to the pub
