The Truth
« on: December 04, 2013, 01:32:09 PM »
This says everything about what has been going on with the Welfare Reforms.

It's not just a newspaper spouting off to gain sales.

These are real people - I know of genuine cases who are affected by this - these people will not listen to GP's or Consultants - they know best it seems -

Good find OC. Shows people that think they can't change things that they can - and that signing a petition is not necessarily a waste of time.

Yet another suicide.

This is very much like someone I know who has worked for years now disabled

Now told they must find work.

Racked by pain, uses a powered scooter or walking stick for short distance into home
Their GP is incensed and is backing this person all the way.

What many people maybe don't know is that people who are in constant pain even with meds to help with that pain are expected to work.
Being in pain with a disabling condition doesn't count it seems.

Problem is that some people fiddle the benefit system in this country, but our government isn't bright enough to target the offenders. So they just go after everybody, as if guilty until proven innocent.

And to cover their own arses they employ a French company to do their dirty work for them.

Very true Pete.
However even with proof of bad arthritis etc people are expected to work.
How can a person concentrate when is constant pain, someone who doesn't sleep well becuase of pain.
It's like the stories we hear of in the concentration camps - you work but the first time you fall - your shot.

Having a proper rant at the moment having been updated only yesterday by someone I know and who is suffering just like this lady did. They have never scrounged but worked - still lumped in with the scroungers though.

Think I had better shut up before someone comes on and tells me to zip it  ::)

Why is it that persons from overseas can come here - who are "fit for work", yet almost exclusively get on the benefit system almost instantly.
Yet folks born here, who have probably worked for the majority of their lives, find it almost impossible to get benefits through either illness or injury?
Things go wrong in peoples lives, life changing events.
Its not a racist rant - but something is very wrong here.
Surely the assessment of a persons fitness to work must be quantified by a medical professional without bias And if it isn't, it should be possible that the decision can be overuled by a G.P., either yours, or an independant one who has access to your medical history.
Agreed - there are people out there who are able to work, but would rather not, who have played the system for years & continue to get away with it. They should be targeted without question.

I don't think that is true. But it is typical of the press to keep trotting that kind of story out.

I know there has been a cock-up with regards to immigration - but it is a little different to what people like Nigel Farrage say. I have proven his lies and have seen them debunked on Question time, but some folks still believe him. Unreal.

I don't know much about that scimitar TBH, but do think that ALL parties have let this go on for too long and we are told are now in a bit of an overload of immigrants.

Yet folks born here, who have probably worked for the majority of their lives, find it almost impossible to get benefits through either illness or injury?

That is so true but there is no compassion for them

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that - but I agree it should. A GP and consultant will know their patients capabilities far better then anyone else.[/i

The assessments works not what a person can't do - but what they can - so many important things are ignored

Did you know that just being able to lift up your arms to your ears to put in earings or scratch your ear goes against a person?
