It wouldn't be the first time; several years back a German couple drove their new BMW into a river because its satnav didn't tell them to wait for the ferry! ;D

I'm inclined to think the the cyclist was an eastern european worker judging by his workplace, Heathrow.
Nothing wrong with that, obviously he's perfectly legal to be here.
Perhaps a little short on knowledge of the laws though  :-X
