Cos I can, and will, post, Dennis Skinner's latest rant.
« on: March 06, 2014, 09:19:40 PM »
Quote
Dennis Skinner: "The Labour Movement must never forget or diminish the historic battle waged by the miners. "

Quote
It was not about money but about people fighting for their jobs, communities and the future of their children. Although the establishment used every weapon at its disposal to crush them, the men, women and children of the mining communities, carried on the struggle for a full year

Been here before, someone is going to tell me I'm wrong. More to the point, tell me Dennis is wrong.

He's not wrong. The problem is that he's ended his rant too soon. He's forgotten to add that they lost. He's forgotten to add that it signalled the end of the labour movement he mentions in line 1. He's forgotten to add that given the shift to the right manufactured by Blair to make 'New Labour' electable again there now isn't anybody who properly represents the working man and woman.
He's forgotten to add that this is why Cameron now faces so little opposition to his current policies. And sadly he's forgotten to add that in the modern world his brand of left wing politics are an irrelevance.
