Ahhh that's answered my Q then Simon - I was (still am ) wondering why it's full of water???
Back on topic we had our grey box left near the door, just having returned from hols we wouldn't have had a clue what it was for - but it answered our questions about what one of daughters elderly neighbours was rambling about to us as he wafted his grey box in the air.  :))

Because we have a compost bin so no need for the green one.  I filled it with water to water the plants etc so I didnt use the mains as we are on a meter.

Its all rain water, a green bin full and 2 water butts.

based on what they can hold, its about 600 litres of water in all.  And every drop of the water was free

I thought about using it for car cleaning stuff or (if the lid's water tight) as a 'portaloo' in case I get caught short whilst driving and desperately need a pee - my prostate being as uncooperative as it can be at the moment....

Not at all.  I have 2 water butts each holding 210 litres each and my guess is the green bin is about 150 litres.

Still waiting for ours. I saw one on a neighbour's door step on Saturday afternoon so phoned CBC on Monday morning and was one would be delivered to us. haven't seen it yet but I expect it'll arrive on bin day (Friday) when we'll be away...
