CALOW GAS EXTRACTION
« on: May 08, 2014, 05:34:28 PM »
Wish us luck on Monday 12th. Representatives from D.C.C. are visiting the site at approx 10.40 am prior to the meeting at County Hall Matlock.
Plenty of robust protesters will be there (I'm at work of course, but I'm sure I can rely on the Wife), - so we'll see what happens.

I would have been tempted to go but I have a funeral in Doncaster tomorrow.

Good luck them though.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I didn't have anything positive to post and thought 'Good Luck' sounded a bit patronising if that was all I posted.
Have noticed since the dates have changed haven't they changed the day of the actual meeting ?
I'll have a look in a while to clarify.

Knew I'd read it somewhere, CAGE on Facebook.

So the planners have really messed up.
As they didn't get letters out in time telling all the 400+ people who wrote written objections about the date of the planning meeting they have now decided to change the meeting to 9th June.
The site visit by the Councillors on the committee - these are the 10 Councillors from across Derbyshire who get to decide are fate - is still going ahead on Monday at 10.30. Unless they decide at the last minute to change that too.
If you can make it on Monday morning please come down to the site entrance on Dark Lane to show your support.
Thanks

We got our letters wednesday from DCC saying that if we intended to be at the meeting saying we had to register to be there before 12.00 on the friday.
Numerous complaints later, DCC have extended the meeting to 9th June.
Meanwhile banners & posters have gone uo to greet the councillors that are assembling at the site at 10.40am tomorrow.

A planning meeting is a public meeting. The only reason they can have for asking you to register Is to make sure they have a venue big enough (like CBC did when they had the meeting about CFC building at wheeldon mill) they would be in trouble if they denied people access to a public meeting simply for not pre registering

Wasn't there something in the Queen's Speech last week to allow fracking without the need for planning permission?

It's this quote from the DT's website that bothers me Dave after reading your post.
Quote
It remains to be seen if SSNG will appeal against the decision.
Margi added: “We’ve won the battle but now we’ll have to wait and see if we’ve won the war.”

Could they now appeal and the council can't stop them.
