Is this like the living wage?
Great Idea.
Well on paper anyway.
Explain to me how it works in practice though?
For instance.
I need to be paid a living wage.
Theres pretty much only one way to pay for that.
Your shopping bill is going to go up.
So now the electricity worker, the gas worker, the council official, the nurse etc etc all need their living wage to go up because it costs them more to eat.
So guess what?
my utility bills, council tax and NI contributions are going to go up.
Oh dear so now I need an increase in my living wage.
Go back to the top and start again.
Meanwhile in theory the pensioners and those on benefits are being left behind.
So either they are getting poorer in real terms or they are going to have to see increases.
Doesnt that mean my taxes going up?
Which means I've got less money.
I might need another increase in that living wage.
A loaf of bread is now by my reckoning about £6
