Your On Your Own !A
« on: November 05, 2014, 08:07:46 PM »
A virus has swept away most of the worlds population theres no power or running water no rule of law the government has collapsed money has no value. Everything you knew and know has gone its down to survival in a new world order were dog eats dog could you survive in this world on your own?

Why would anyone want to?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

It might surprise you what you can do when your back against the wall. Though my Army training might give me the edge over some. 8)

Will give you a wide berth then - I would probably end up roasting on the camp fire - feed you for a good month or so  ;)

Seriously, I couldn't survive anything like that, too old and need my meds. I reckon a person would need to have had some survival training anyway.
TBH I'm so picky I would rather be dead, no toilet  :-? no water to brush my teeth  :-? not toothpaste  :-? :-? :-?
Nope too much of a wimp - I suppose we could all congregate at yours and you could look after us  :-*

I do however  know of someone from the forces who had a breakdown and lived in the woods using survival knowledge for quite awhile.

In a lawless society you would need to be armed, dog eat dog.
Hope it never happens, but reckon I could stand my own for a while.
24/7 surveilance of your own home would be a nightmare IMHO !!

What would eat? How would you cook it? How would you boil water to drink? What if the temperature went down to minus 20?
Nah lets just go to ironsky's he'll look after us  ;)

You don't need electric or gas to cook a meal we have been spoiled by the 'easy' life. First rule of survival is to build a shelter second make a fire matcher's not required.Theres plenty to eat from wild plants to animals like rabbits and birds prepare to kill such animal and prepare them for the fire. Boil water to drink collect rainwater. Its very much a mind over matter when your hungry you will do it.

Done the cubs, scouts and camping club youth. Also done the NCB training in Castleton in January 1984.
2ft of snow. Slept in the Valley of Kinder Falls over night.
My bit of flint didn't work. Too wet. No fire, BAD NEWS !!
