A new start?
« on: November 07, 2014, 09:28:10 AM »
Not  got  leanings  to  any  particular  party, they  all  have  good  and  bad  ideas, so  who  do  you  vote  for?  Can  never  understand   "I  vote  for (whoever)  because  my  dad  did"  or  "  our  family  has  always  voted (whoever),  probably  if  this  way  of  voting  changed  we  could  see  something  different, or  would  we.   All  the  parties  are  the  same,  they  have  to  run  the  country  whether  we  like  them  or  not. What  if  the  lot  of  them  were  cleared  out  and  we  made  a  fresh  start,  what  or  who  would  we  finish  up  with?, probably  still  get  the  rich  public  schoolboys  who  doesn,t  understand  the  down  to  earth  people .........  speech  over,  going  back  to  my  cave.
Do  what  you  can,  while  you  can!

To be an politician you need to be a showman. That's all what politics are, you talk to the masses make a song and dance in an effect to win hearts and minds look for a minority to blame for the counties ills hay pesto your in power to back track on what you promised to the electorate. All though history right from the Rome times to the present day nothing changes the powerful minority rule over the underclass with fear and hate. We live in a society of me me a product of Thatcher think tank we are told what to do and think as the masses can not think for themselfs anymore change is discouraged and meet with disdrain. Power is a drug not one that can be easily given up.

I think Labour will be in power after the election.

Cant see UKIP winning but looking at previous votes, ill bet they give the other parties a run for their money.

And no im not telling you who im voting for (if i bother at all)
Im a bomb technician.  If you see me running, try and keep up

I think Ironsky has a point by saying to be a politician you need to be a showman.  With the exception of a fair few,  all the main politicians seem to be 'front men' and my feeling is the main powerhouses are in the backrooms of each party e.g. people we don't see, never heard of yet have all the influence to pull the strings to operate the mouth of the front man.  Just my humble view, but it's a view I've held for many years and the reason I have no wish to get involved with politics.  I still vote though.

Surely Joe Public votes for the party that will be better for him/her.
Sadly, none of them appear to be capable of doing that nowadays  :(

Have to admit when I first began voting I followed my parents as they gave their strong opinions in any political discussions.
These day I would vote for whoever I thought were promising policies which I agreed with.
Sadly they all play act and lie, this party are the worst ever  and have a leader who is a bully- or maybe that was Thatcher???

What we need is a great big melting pot - with maybe some policies from each party coming out of it

That's the problem people vote for what's best for them not the community as a whole hence no change in this country.

I understand what you say Ironsky, but is that possible. How wider community do you mean ?
Bolsover was always considered as a Labour safe seat, working class town. But it's changing, there's no industry here now.
Chesterfield was LibDem run when I started working there, now it's Labour, still no industry as such ??

Currently having a discussion with an ex Bolsover Colliery Deputy on my Boza Pit Facebook group page. Aged about 70.
He's standing as a UKIP in Bolsover, just told him I'd sooner stick cocktail sticks in my eyes than vote for him.
His father, ex miner, who I knew, must be turning in his grave, or Urn  ::)

Is he going to stand against Dennis Skinner Fly?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Maybe he's only doing it because it's well paid. Not that I'd blame him for that - good luck to any working man that can make himself a bob or two.

Funny how rich folks are always slagging them off for paying themselves a decent allowance - it really pisses them off - they squeal like stuck pigs... ;)  :))

But we can't all have wealthy parents giving us a privileged start.  :(

I think the cold reality of our political establishment is they are so far from the ordinary people now theres no turning back. Another thing is we have a Prime Minster who is only in his forties in my eyes he is too young and lacks experience same goes for Osborne and Miliband we need a person who has spent most of there working life in politics with lots of experience and puts Britain and it's people first .

That's like saying Skinner or Perkins are only in it for the money !!
