What Are Telescope Ladders Like To Use ?
« on: November 12, 2014, 03:48:15 PM »
Thinking of buying Telescope ladders but would like to know what they are like to use and are they quite heavy to carry?

I think we have some aluminium ones, don't think they are heavy to carry. Mind you that's what Mr Old Cruser is for, so he may well disagree  ;)

You're welcome to give them a test drive as long as you don't sue me for trapped finger as ideally you need 3 hands to close them up

It's a bugger having to keep one eye closed while you're using it though! :)) :))

They are light to carry and compact fit in a car boot easy , down side they are normally limited to height and would not normally reach a gutter on a house .

Not so heavy once they are upright. Much heavier once one is mounted, & climbing. It's a bit like making love to a beautiful woman.First check your goal - make sure it's within your reach.
Make sure your extension is well waxed, and can extend to it's full extent.
Ensure once it gets there, that it can do the job, it may have to go up or down for a bit until satisfactorily situated. This may have to be repeated many times. There could be failed attempts too, which a cup of tea might remedy. Try again.
Once there, it may have to be there for a while.Particularly afterwards.
After it's done with, it may be erect for weeks after, yet redundant.
Once it's retracted, it might need cleaning again. Depends what mush it has had to go through, & how long it was left there.
Once it's removed & taken away, usually it's ready for operating purposes again pretty quickly. but not in she same place. Unless there's a complaint (?) & you have to go back & put it up again.
So long as you can fit them on the top of your van, you should be Ok. :P
