E cigs ?
« on: November 19, 2014, 04:55:50 PM »
A  few  times  recently, I  have  noticed  some  people  using  their  E cigs  (or  whatever  the   correct  term  is ) on   buses,  usually  curled  up  on  the  back  seat  thinking  no  one  can  see  them.  Can,t  see  the  smoker  but  the  cloud  of  smoke  is  clear  enough.  Anyone  know  what  the  policy  is  regarding  this  new  smoking  trend  in  confined spaces.

Buses  in  question  were,  Red  Arrow,   X17  (old  one)   and  No. 51

The policy for E- Cigs is they are not allowed on any bus service as the smell and smoke are just as bad as a real cigarette which are also banned.

The use will also be banned in April(?), in Chesterfield Taxis and Private Hire vehicles.
They don't actually bother me even pasively.

What he said - but drivers can't usually spot it. We're busy at the pointy end!
If we spend our time watching CCTV, or looking in mirrors at passengers, whilst driving, its tantamount to using a mobile - driving without due care and attention.

No  way  do  I  blame  the  drivers,  they  have  enough  responsibility.
