Central Cars apparently running on 'Snow Tarrif' EH !!!
« on: February 04, 2012, 08:54:17 PM »
Friend of mine has just walked from Tapton Golf Course to the train station, to get a taxi home. Not a cab in sight.
So he walked up town to Central Cars's office.

What would have cost him £5, in my taxi, cost him £6.50.
They didn't tell him till he got to his house, they're running fares on snow rate. WTF !!!

Robbing Bas**** !!!!

Aren't fares base on time as well as money, maybe they couldn't drive through town at 50?

Snow tarrif - never heard of that! What about the meters then  do they work different in the snow????? Or does this mean that taxis can just charge what they want when it's snowing?????

Taxis, (hackneys, the ones that sit on the ranks), have fixed meters, date/time.
They can only charge what is on the meter. Tariffs are set by the town hall.
Unless a price is agreed before the journey.

Private hires, should also have meters, or, a set price for a journey.
Unless a price is agreed before the journey.

Neither should take a customer then make a price up when they get to the destination  >:(
