Difficult to tell because of the perspective of the photo but the banks certainly look a lot smaller than they currently are.

Do they still have the rowing boats on there?
I enjoyed the paddling pool at the side of the lake, it's long gone, however I like the play area near the cafe for the younger children

Just looked on Old-Maps, it's been the same shape and size since the 1898 map. It wasn't there in 1883 LOL
I didn't doubt you nicheuk, just wanted to see it for myself  ;)

Queens Park was built in 1887.

I seem to remember in the 1960s part of the lake at the Boythorpe Road end got altered. Maybe that's when the paddling pool went
