Heavy traffic in Eckington

Roadsworks on the main road,try to avoid as it is ongoing looks like resurfacing work,if you need to go Crystal Peaks etc would suggest you travel via Staveley .

Re-surfacing going on in Staveley too. I've been meaning to ask (Mycul??), why its taking so long. A few weeks ago they stripped the road over night. The following night, resurfaced half of it, but nothing since. I don't know if its weather related but the work was started a couple of weeks before the snow, and recently, its been quite mild. Also, if weather is such a factor, why start the work in middle of January.

Resurfacing in Bolsover too. Have the council come into a cheap job lot of tarmac, or are they trying to justify the increase in council tax, as per Pete's post.

That apart, road re-surfacing has sod all to do with CBC,
or even BDC,
or even NEDCC,
doesn't that come under DCC

Luckily the schools are off this week. So there should be less early morning traffic.

I mentioned Mycul as I thought he might know about the technicalities rather than the specific job.

....................on the other hand, the roadworks on Storforth Lane are a right pain in the arris!! 

Yesterday we had not only to contend with the traffic lights at the bridge, but also another set a matter of 50 yards further on - resulting in traffic queuing under the bridge as it was complete gridlock! 

Could the numpties (sorry Council?) have de-commissioned the railway bridge lights so we only had one set to contend with, resulting in a smoother flow of traffic?
