Chesterfield Ex Pat......

Recommended this forum by a dear friend who tells me that this is the place to be for good honest discourse about Chesterfield. I am an ex pat living in the Dominican Republic, I left Chesterfield back in 1990 so a long time ago but make frequent visits back to a place I will always call and consider home. Thinking of heading back in March possibly to join the exodus to Wembley. Definitely this will be a useful site to check out what's going on prior to my next visit. Also anyone heading out this way is always welcome to drop me a line......Off the bat, good things about Chesterfield, no hurricanes, earthquakes or tarantulas......On the flip side, less chance here of getting smacked if you venture into the local town on a Friday night........ :) Feel free to check out http://www.therealdr.com/

Were you in Chesterfield a couple of years ago by any chance?

I try to get back a couple of times a year to see family and friends back there, definitely prefer coming back in summer to winter, no big surprise there (unless Christmas is involved). It has to be said that the UK is a wonderful place to be in the summer, just a pity it doesn't last long enough. There are a few ex-pats living out here so on occasions it's a little like home away from home. Quite a few folks cashed in their chips came out here put their money in local banks & live on the interest, some making as much as 16%. Definitely beats what the Coop Bank is paying these days..... :)

Well, I'm naffed off with the weather here, so a high interest rate together with sunshine is a good selling point for damn well emigrating!    8)
