It seems this is another high street name on the chopping block, been in existence for over 150 years. Not a shop I liked to go in as they weren't cheap and I found most of the staff surly. I personally I only went in there to use the post office which brings up the question of where does the P.O. go when Smith's closes?

I am not a pessimist, I just help them out when they're busy.

They've sold out to another company haven't they.
I took daughter in there just for the Post Office to renew her Passport as this year she's 50 and we are all going abroad. It was easier although cost more as they took her photo and sent off the renewal form. Passport came back in a couple of weeks.
Being a wheelchair user the booths are a challenge, so yes if the new owners don't keep the Post Office in many will miss it!!
