Garden V hot weather
« on: August 26, 2025, 03:11:22 PM »
Mine has been rubbish this year.
I've never had so little in bloom in my pots.
The lawns dying off - mainly due to hubby being obsessed with cutting it!
When I nagged -- errr no sorry  explained to him that it was only the dandelions which were growing not the grass he went round chopping their poor little heads off  :)) :))

Our lawn is at quite a low point in the village, and is always quite green....it looks great when it is mown, and equally great when uncut, with loads of flowers...

I can't grumble because of the heatwaves I've only had to trim my hedges twice this year and mowing the grass is a doddle as it's hardly growing, I have a large back garden so anything that saves my poor back gets my vote.

Now we will start getting rain and the lawn will almost certainly shoot up like a wheat field, but the upside is it's getting darker sooner and that means the screaming kids are off the streets sooner plus the little darlings will be back at school next week, don't get me wrong I like children but I couldn't eat a whole one!!!
I am not a pessimist, I just help them out when they're busy.
