Microsoft Windows 8, and IE10 :-(
« on: March 04, 2012, 05:48:21 PM »
Just installed it on my laptop. Guess what, it stinks LOL
It did find my wireless card 1st time, I'm on the net  ;)
I'm using it to post right now.
But overall, if this was the OS on a new computer I'd just bought, I'd downgrade it to Vista.

Now that coming from a techie geek means something  :o
The GU-interface is just, so wrong  :(

Just for the record, when you install it, it replaces your current OS.
You need to reinstall it from disk if you don't like Win8.

I installed it on a spare HD I put in my lappy.
My original HD will be back in before my next post.

Ghastly !!

If you want an install disk, let me know.
It's free from Microsoft, so no copyright worries  :o

<cough>Like a book!</cough>

Seriously, it stinks. Back on my Vista drive now.
Might have a look at a Mac OS for windows dual boot.
Nothing to lose.
I've already got a Linux install on board.

Didn't know Win 8 had been released yet. Isn't it designed for tablets, etc, so not optimised on a PC, as always with Windows, it needs to be out a bit before all the bugs get squashed. I got Win 7 (64bit) when it was still very new and it was a PITA, nothing worked with it, but I would be lost without it now.

Win 8 hasn't been released yet. I downloaded an MS beta.
Don't bother.

@Pete, where can i find a legal ISO of a MAC OS, apparently it's like swapping and passing a copy of windows about.
Not legal.
