Last Lighting Tower Falls at Saltergate
« on: July 11, 2012, 10:41:34 AM »
The last lighting tower at the old football ground on Saltergate came down today, as witnessed by that Flyboy.

Despite being told there would be a bit of a ceremony, complete with tv cameras, it seems that the demolition crew need it gone.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Was driving up Saltergate and saw something move out the corner of my eye to the right .
I turned to look, and saw the tower topple to the ground  ;D

Can't say I saw any camera crews or crowds of people though.
I must be one of the select few who actually saw it fall  ;)

I suppose the camera crews must have been fully occupied by that loose manhole cover in Leeds.

Did it fall or was it pushed? (I knew I should have joined the Police after all) MD

It was actually pushed by one of the demolition cranes. I presume they had ropes to pull it in the right direction.
I saw it, I saw it  C:-)
