Shape of the Rain Reforming
« on: April 19, 2012, 03:41:28 PM »
Does any of the seniors on here remember Shape of the Rain? They were a local band who got a recording deal in the late 60s early 70s.

Anyway I saw a Tweet today by Ellie Hunter, with a link to one of their songs on YouTube, for anyone that's interested. Apparently Ms Hunter is writing an article about them and states that they are reformin.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I remember seeing them at the Barrow Hill hotel, around 1969 I think it was - good band. A lot of my mates had the Riley, Riley, Wood and Waggett album - but I was more into Hendrix...

One of Dave McPhies groups (or as we knew him Jock Macpie).
They were the first group I ever saw with a bottle neck slide guitar.
If they are coming back I reckon Harry Greibson String Band should come back as well.
Oh, shit, that means money as I haven't got a drum kit anymore.

If I had my way you could have my hubbies drum kit - it's just sitting there under sheets. Think he is waiting for his come back --- the oldest swinger in town!!! ;)
