CF hits 1000 tweets, and I get a call from a mod from CF

I've received a mobile call from a member of the CF Mod team.
He's got my number, I don't care about that.
He didn't like the fact I'd posted on CF, and used a link to this site.

I didn't tell him to bo**ocks, perhaps I should have.
Just told him I won't post links to this site on his anymore.

Just let it go mate. There's no need to be involved with them anymore. They have got what they wanted, we have got our space.

I know a lot of us were very involved over there for a long time, but the way things were going, it was only a matter of time.

Truth is now that it's Dawn and Henri's forum - and I can't say I'd want to go for a drink with either of 'em. Plus they have got rid of the "hooligan" element, have got loads of new members and have settled to their way.

I think we should leave them to it and they in turn should not post here.

They've got just what they wanted, a twee little forum where no-one argues. Go on there and take the p*ss (as admittedly we did with the next sentence thread) and they get upset.
That said I don't think they should be stopped from coming on here.
They just need to accept that they are going to get ripped!!!

Can't remember last time I had a look on there. Nothing against them, still got Chris as a friend on Facebook. Both are just forums to have a laugh or let off a bit of steam now and again.

No - it's done by pm's instead - as I found out and to be honest if I got them on here I would pull out of this site as well - say it on the open forum if you want to say it - so everyone can read it.

I was relatively new to the other site so knew nothing of these problems, then found this site and joined, put a few posts out ---- and that's what I got!
Very immature, sneaky and quite spiteful in my book,
Quite frankly I moved out of the playground many many  years ago and don't wish to be a part of any forum where there is nastiness going on ---- it's supposed to be a 'pleasure' isn't it? To take part in topics etc on forums.
 Heated debates are fine - freedom of speech and all that, and I have read the odd one on here - but no one seems to take the hump or get too personal.
I enjoy it on 'the tap room forum'  Lifes too short JR isn't it.

That was partly the problem, the claim was that it was OUR nastiness that they were trying to put a stop to, but it got to the stage where there was no tolerance at all, no right of reply and no dissent allowed. Eventually a 'my way or the highway' decree was issued and guess what? We took to the highway!!

I enjoy it on 'the tap room forum'  Lifes too short JR isn't it. 

The 'Tap room' was where we felt the old forum was, trouble being that because the traditional pub tap room was a male dominated environment some people (ok let's be honest ONE person) felt we were trying to make the forum male dominated as well. Wasn't true but it didn't stop her moaning about it which in turn meant she was taking most of the stick and it became an ever decreasing circle.
As to life being too short if I took everything I read on these forums personally I wouldn't be speaking to a brother, a cousin, someone I've known for 30 odd years (and shared an office with for 5) and other new aquaintances all of whom I'm happy to spend a few hours and many a pint with.
