Agree with you there - I went that way earlier today and negotiating the parked cars and traffic coming the other way, that wouldn't let anyone through, was a bit of a nightmare

Just after travelling the diversion route found there'd been a collision on the roundabout

Went that way this afternoon and, despite Peak FM saying the road works would be there until after the New Year, it was finished!
