There are proposals to reduce the number of ambulance stations in Derbyshire from 16 to 2.

Ambulance crews work 12 hour shifts and unlike the fire service who have a lot of stand-by time they are busy most of the shift. These potential changes would add more travel time to very long shifts.

If you live out in the sticks you could have a long wait to get treated.

Sounds like a bad idea to me.

Economies of scale I guess. Not sure if they expect the crew to stop out as the paramedics do

Love the socialist party reaction to this.
