My Wife in Hospital :(
« on: November 07, 2012, 08:07:52 PM »
My lovely Wife had a nosebleed Monday night - continued in to tuesday - took her to A&E and she's still there bless her. Hospital that is.
Blood pressure virtually off the scale, but no symptoms, i.e. headaches, blurry vision.
Various tablets have been given, but still BP too high.
Trying her on Ramipril tomorrow for a whole day to see if that has any effect.
Hopefully home for the weekend, if not before - I don't know yet.
For anyone out there who hasn't had their blood pressure checked recently then i urge you to do so.
It can mean the difference between a stroke, or normal life. My Wife had no idea. But then again high BP doesn't always come with symptoms. In a way it was "lucky" she had the nosebleed, otherwise the consequences could have been much worse.
I'm going to get mine checked out asap.

Hope the Mrs has a speedy recovery, how scary though had she have not had the nosebleed.
Mine was checked not so long ago and is normal so not bad but its worth getting it checked often.

Hope you wife is ok, i am on Ramipril , and as you say a lot of the time you do not know you have high blood pressure mine was spotted on a visit to a well clinic at the local doctors i have never had any symptoms to alert me to it  and the tablets do keep mine down now.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good - But, too many Birthdays can kill you.

Just checked mine and Our_Lass's BP.
Me, 133/94.
Her, 142/93
First time the unit has been used for about 2 years, and only cost a tenner off Ebay.
So it's just a taken with a pinch of salt.

Thanks for all your very kind messages folks. Much appreciated.
BP's finally coming down, and she's been told she will probably be home tomorrow :)
Great news.
