Parking
« on: December 21, 2012, 08:20:20 PM »
Was riding round the Rose Hill car park today - it said Spaces - and letting drivers in -  there were only disabled spaces - so many drivers riding round - just had to be in the right place at the right time. Should have thought they could have a better system than that so at least drivers knew it was disabled only parking at that time.

Not the best of systems then. Not like I'm blaming the council.

Nope and then the machine wouldn't take my parking ticket - couldn't get out  :))
Mind you the system at the hallamshire is that they display blue badge parking only available -- so have to keep driving round in circles until they have spaces again -  ::)

One of our councillors came in the other day muttering about driving round for ages and not getting a space.

I'm told that every so often the parking wardens check and disable the disabled spaces if they are underused.

Surly they could have devised a disabled parking only available light and leave it to the individual to decide if they wanted to go in and ride round or try somewhere else. Mind you, if you get to the entry barrier and there are two car at the back of you - that's a bit difficult  ::)

Don't think the barrier system can determine whether someone is heading for disabled, parent and toddler or the other spaces so therefore can't indicate exactly what is free

Don`t be stuck for parking this christmas.
Park on my drive on the Spires.  Forget the dohnut and all the other overpriced
council parking facilities.  Use my drive, walk into town.

We bought a property many years ago large house but the room at the front 'had' been used as a small business we had to notify relevant people that it was no longer being used to earn money and so cancel the extra rates.

Indeed there will be knock-on effects that I WILL have to resolve
But I will worry about that when I get my first client.  It is ALL speculation until I have my first client.  I am just trying to make people aware at this time, that there is another option from the council spaces in the town centre.
In a private remote unpopulated area - park on my drive and simply take the short work into the town centre.
