Sherwood Lodge Bolsover. Photo Album.
« on: January 21, 2013, 05:11:51 PM »
Went for a walk earlier. Took a few snaps. The place won't be here next winter.
But we will have a Morrisons instead  :)
The pictures should be public on my photobucket account.

As with all my photo's, I claim copyright to them, but don't mind people sharing them,
as long as they give me credit for taking them
;)

How much of Sherwood lodge is going then?
I remember playing on the grass areas around the back and having a sit in the flower gardens..
Used to live on Oxcroft Lane in the early 90's moved 96 i think. But at the other end num 8 :)
The houses you took a shot of i remember my Grandma was contemplating buying the end one years ago but they decided against it in the end.
The council offices themselves i did work experience for in year 10 :) it was a lovely place inside with lots of friendly staff pity its going to go but glad that there will be a decent supermarket up there

Top left is the Flower/Peace Garden Square. All the rest is going.
I'm sorry if some Bolsover people have issues with this, me and Our_Lass spent about 20 minutes walking around there.
We never saw 1 other person. Not exactly a popular Boza area is it. Even the old band stand has gone.

The band stand is long gone Emma.
There's no events held there any longer.
Can you remember some of the Old English Fight Re-e-nactions. Swords shows, Blunderbuss, and other displays, ect ,they used to hold there.
Doubt you do. I don't think your old enough.

I don't remember no, depends how long ago it was longer than say 26 years ago there would be no chance, not that i ever remember my parents taking me to such things anyway.
I know it was knocked down eventually had some awful graffiti along with other unpleasantness...
