With respect, I don't think the cost to us if his security is stepped up is the major issue here.
I think if he is going to be in the forces, it should be "warts and all" like the rest of them - not just a figurehead that gets special treatment.
However I'm not sure what he was asked by Sky news, but if the news editor sanctioned that going out without thinking it through, then Sky news has a lot to answer for. A little more tact and sympathy for one fresh from the battlefield would have been an intelligent way to go.
For the record, I don't think we should be in Afghanistan or Iraq anyway.
