I was browsing the Chesterfield Wikipedia site and it says Jason Statham was born right here in Chesterfield! gotta be the current most famous person from our sleepy little town

Depending on what website you go on you get the answers, Chesterfield Shirebrook and London.
The most accurate picture anyone can come up with is that he was born in Shirebrook and moved to London when he was 3

A Guardian article on him last year noted that "Statham was born in Chesterfield 44 years ago." I suppose the writer might have got that off Wikipedia. The Shirebrook birth will  have been registered in Chesterfield, where there is a Jason Statham birth registered in the third quarter of 1967. There is no Jason Statham birth registered anywhere near London, and the only other ones worth considering on age were registered in Swansea, Manchester, Birmingham and Reading, between 1968 and 1971.
