Main Post Office to close?
«

Just heard that the main town centre Post Office is going to close, not been officially confirmed but it looks about right.
I've hardly been in this last ten years and am not sure why it is needed. Anyone use it on a regular basis? Or know anyone who does?
Hat tip to DentsPhoto.

Last time I went in was to fetch my £501 lottery scratch card winnings. 1997 I think
Not happy with the smaller post offices closing. Nightmare for Ebay sellers and such

Surely You cannot "NOT Have" a Main Post Office In a Major Town Centre.
Seems to me it is more Likely The Building is too Big,and will sell it off,or they will be moving to
Better, more modern premises which will have less running costs.

Sounds like 'relocated' is a better word than closed.

Makes you wonder - is it Chesterfield or Tescofield

Looks like they are looking to re-locate then, but where too? Some towns/cities have made use of empty properties such as the co-op will be and let it to several businesses - wonder if Chesterfield will try that and maybe the post office would fit in there?

Quite right pureparty. Thing is we have a post office in our village and we are hardly going to travel in Chesterfield to use the one there.
