What was that ?
« on: July 13, 2013, 06:37:09 PM »
Called at my mums. She's been away all week. Sat in the room swapping stories as you do, and heard a whoosh bang type thud whack. We all looked at each other and decided a neighbour must have broken or blown something minor up.
Few minutes later, Our_Lass walks outside onto the patio for a spot of cooler air, and calls us outside.
An inside pane of glass in the conservatory had shattered. It was all crazy paved but still intact. You could hear it creaking  :D
I've never known a double glazed window to just 'shatter'  :o

I messaged Mark, (Aptus Windows - 'Chesterfield Businesses & Tradesmen' section on here), on Facebook, he's a friend of mine.
I simply explained what had happened and asked him to phone mum if he wanted a little job.
He phoned mums back straight away, literally 2 minutes, advised us what to do, and arranged to call early morning on Monday to measure up for a new panel.  ;)

BTW but I didn't tell you though, mum got a speeding ticket on the way to Skeggy  ::)
Don't know where I get it from  :-X

An inside panel OC
The outer panel is still intact.

Just glad both panes didn't go and we had to board the window up.
The alarm systems been reset. An inward entry, eg window, would fire it. The cat doesn't have access to the conservatory.

Think it was the heat during the past week that caused it.
