But wouldn't they'll get full council tax rebate, and housing benefits. They might actually be better off.
That's the bit I don't get ?
Storm in a teacup I think. Just more gutter press picking and twisting Mp's words.

Sit's back and waits for the Nuclear Fall Out  ;D

Oops forgot. This forum is public and all have access to view it.
Some times, decisions are made to ban users, at the Admin's discretion.
Others users decide they don't like the banter so leave in a huff.
Funny old world  ;)

ok well firstly I don't think we should be debating these issues elsewhere. People migrated to this forum because owners and moderators in another place completely shut down any debate they didn't like.
If someone wants to come on here and debate issues then fine (they usually take the hump and move on but thats another issue), CC Henri K4B and yes bless her even Dawn are all free to come on here as long as they play by the rules but for us to go on there and expect that their narrow minds are going to tolerate any dissent or debate is laughable.

Moving back to the topic.
Lets get beyond the Sky News soundbite shall we? I think everyone agrres that a) theres work out there that could be done and b) workshy people on benefits (not the ill or those like Emmz who are desperate to work) could be set on to do it.
But.....
Who supervises them? Organising the workload and making sure they actually turn up and put a shift in?
Who provides the tools, equipment and protective clothing?
Who pays for the rubbish they collected to be carted away and tipped?

Chances are its the local councils?
So why not just give the councils enough money to set these people on?
So that they can pay tax and NI and contribute to the state?

Why?
Because the government dont want to hand money to local councils.
Because in 6 months time when everyone has forgotten about the policy it will be easier to stop the benefits seekers from doing the job rather than sacking a few thousand new council workers to cut costs.
Because councils can't be trusted to use the money to clean up the streets rather than build shiny new offices or useless computer systems.

Because nobody trusts anybody to do the right thing anymore

Political dogma is more important.
And if you do't believe me then re-post anything from anywhere where either CC or Slacker say anything good about the opposition or bad about their own side.

Good post - and I agree with your points. But I do see the whole forum issues differently today since CC walked.

I don't know if you know this Jon, but when CC left he emailed Fly several times threatening us with legal action if we didn't remove everything he had posted. This was not good for us as it rendered many of the threads he posted in as unreadable. This action was just done out of spite and it affected other members who were not involved in the first place.

Not a nice man.

I pop on there occassionally to have a read and  not that long ago wasn't impressed by a new thread which was a copy of one started on here. The poster had a dig at someone on here about it, not pleasant and rather childish I thought.
Can't blame anyone for having a go back -
and so it continues in another thread I see.
Going by what JR says if the forum owners/ mods didn't like what's happening they would close the threads -so I'm taking it they like it.
Anyway, I like this forum - good crowd

Well said OC - the voice of reason.

I usually refer to that forum as CF, meaning Chesterfield Forums - now I find it stands for Conservative Future.

OC, surely you don't think either me or Fly would act like wind-up merchants...
