Another Chesterfield pub bites the dust.

Bit sad to see this :-(
On the rare occasions I have, 'gone round town', for a booze up over the past 30 year, I always liked this place.

Never really went into town drinking, but New Years Eve we always called in there pre-dinner and dance for a tipple

Is it deffo closed - not just another refit?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Something makes me think you know Dave. I don't, and it's bed time for me.
Just done a quick google, and failed LOL  ;D

Its a shame as the bell was a good hangout when the basement was open...it was very crowded but they played good music...its a sign of the times for chesterfield

New sign gone up today. Opening soon. Been to busy to take a picture, can't remember the name of the group/chain.

Here you go. Amber Taverns.
Website, though there's no news about The Bell on it.
Looks like some sort of franchise thing.

It's had it's insides ripped out. Looks like a total new refit.

Here's the sign I mentioned.

Also noticed the place next to the old Comet site is up for sale. Wasn't this Harry Fish's fur shop ?

Yes it was.

It was the schoolrooms for the Unitarian Chapel on Elder Way originally - went to scouts and youth club there in the late 50s early 60s.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
